Jazz90.1 (WGMC 90.1) will present live on-air performances by The Charlie Lindner Trio on September 26, Russell Scarbrough’s SOUL-JAZZ Big Band on October 17, The Greece Athena High School Jazz Ensemble on November 14, The Syndicate Jazz Band on December 12 for a special holiday performance, The Melody Masters Big Band on January 23, Triocity on February 20, Trio East on March 6, The Greece Arcadia High School Jazz Ensemble on April 3, Bill Schmitt and The Bluesmasters on April 17, Steve Grills and The Roadmasters on May 8 and The Marco Amadio Band on June 5. Each concert is held on a Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m., and is broadcast live from the studios of Jazz90.1. The only way listeners can hear these great groups is to tune in to Jazz90.1, or listen live at www.jazz901.org.
Jazz90.1 is one of the only radio stations in Rochester that broadcast live music on the radio. The concert series which was started in 2005, has featured local artists such as the Bob Sneider Trio, Jimmy Highsmith Jr., Nick Finzer, Ann Mitchell Jazz, Jon Seiger and the Allstars, the Steve Greene Trio, Jive Street Five, John Nyerges, Mambo Kings, Katie Ernst, Jon Stetch and more. Jazz 90.1 is one of the last 24/7/365 jazz stations in the country.
