Oscar Peterson Intl Jazz Festival – Benny Green

February 16 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EST

$55 - $100

As the world’s first (and only!) jazz festival bearing the name of Canada’s greatest jazz artist, the Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival will honour and celebrate his legacy of excellence.
The opening night concert International All-Star Jazz at the Philharmonic features multiple GRAMMY Award winners Cécile McLorin Salvant, Jon Faddis, Jimmy Greene, Michael Dease, Benny Green, Christian McBride, and Kenny Washington.

“The brilliant pianist Benny Green was recognized by Oscar Peterson’s closest musical family: bassist Ray Brown, and Benny was a member of Ray’s trio for many years. Oscar Peterson also believed in and nurtured Benny, who became his protege, and the two recorded a duet album titled “Oscar and Benny” (Telarc) in 1998. Benny is master musician who continues to be a huge force on the scene, continually expanding his musical vision every year.”
-Renee Rosnes, Artistic Director
