Dan Gross is currently Rochester’s only full-time digital content reporter for News 8 WROC. He reports on cool events, people who have a unique craft, tells touching features, and occasionally also runs studio camera, plays chief editor, produces shows, and goes on TV.

Dan hosts, produces, directs, edits, and records the Rochester Indie Musician Spotlight, a program that features local (and mostly young) independent musicians. The Spotlight features a crisp interview with a live performance at Bop Shop Records.

He also hosts and produces a spin-off Spotlight show with Three Heads Brewing, featuring their Rochester Residency, in which one artist puts on four different shows a month.

Dan also also hosts a radio show on Jazz90.1 WGMC-FM, a show he has hosted on Mondays from 6pm-8pm going on five years now.

He also actively films and records concerts. primarily filming and recording  at Bop Shop Records. A curated selection of those concerts – which range from straight ahead, to contemporary, local music, and “adventurous” music – now air on Jazz90.1 on Tuesdays at 8pm as “Bop Shop Live.”

Dan Gross is a graduate of SUNY Oswego with Bachelor of Fine Arts, and double majored in Broadcasting and Music.
