Rankin Shaver

Rankin Shaver returned to the Rochester area after spending over 30 years in Phoenix, Arizona. There, he owned and operated a full entertainment company as a disc jockey and talent agent. He was an on-air personality at radio stations KMCR, KBBC, Key 100.3 and KGRX. Rankin had the pleasure of playing all types of jazz, big band, progressive rock, modern/alternative and new age music during those 12 years. He was also a professor of radio and television broadcasting for a few colleges and private schools. Rankin also co-produced a weekly video music and entertainment television programmed called “Phoenix Wavelength.” He has interviewed such performers at B.B. King, Frank Zappa, Joe Cocker, Vincent Price, Phyllis Diller, Devo, Mose Allison, Ramsey Lewis, Spyro Gyra and others. Rankin is proud to be a part of the team at Member Supported Jazz90.1.
