Derrick is host of The Spectrum on Jazz90.1 every Sunday night from 10 p.m. – 1 a.m. and weekday mornings from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. Derrick has been with the station since 1989 and is a three time JazzWeek Jazz Programmer of The Year winner. Derrick’s life long obsession and passion for jazz started when he bought his first jazz album Spectrum, by drummer Billy Cobham—at age 4. When not at the station he often can be found at various times and places around the Flower City sharing and spreading his passion for great music, especially during the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival.
