Oscar Peterson Intl Jazz Festival – Kenny Washington

February 16 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EST

$55 – $100

As the world’s first (and only!) jazz festival bearing the name of Canada’s greatest jazz artist, the Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival will honour and celebrate his legacy of excellence.
The opening night concert International All-Star Jazz at the Philharmonic features multiple GRAMMY Award winners Cécile McLorin Salvant, Jon Faddis, Jimmy Greene, Michael Dease, Benny Green, Christian McBride, and Kenny Washington.

“Besides being one of New York City’s top-call drummers, Kenny Washington is one of the world’s experts of the history of jazz. He plays with a raw swing and has an extraordinary talent when it comes to orchestrating the music. There’s an appealing sense of urgency in his drumming that prompted the great pianist, Tommy Flanagan, to nickname Kenny, ‘Mean Streets.'”
-Renee Rosnes, Artistic Director
