Jazz90.1 is proud to announce the return of a monthly show featuring young jazz musicians from the Greece Central School District.

Every month, Athena High School Jazz Band students under the direction of Brian King will join Jazz90.1’s Rob Linton and Derrick Lucas for a live hour-long program featuring music handpicked by student musicians, and live student performances.

Students will discuss the artists, their music and their influence on jazz.

Station Manager Rob Linton said this endeavor is a great way to highlight the amazing partnership between Jazz90.1 and The Greece Central School District, which owns the station.

“What’s even more exciting is that this program allows us to present the voices of young jazz musicians on Jazz90.1 – many of whom plan to continue their jazz studies as they transition to college and career,” Linton added.

The featured students have been studying jazz for many years and the artists they select will be of significance.
