Jazz90.1 WGMC-FM and Greece Baptist Church are pleased to present eight FREE community jazz and big band concerts to be held between October and May. These concerts will take place at Greece Baptist Church in their sanctuary – located at 1230 Long Pond Road. There is plenty of parking available at the church, including close handicap access. This will be the fourth season of this series.
Performers for this new series include Indigo Breeze on October 17, The Bill Tiberio Band on November 7, The Greece Concert Band for a holiday concert on Sunday December 15, Duo Scambio on January 23, The Stewie Evans Trio on February 6, The GateSwingers Big Band on March 20, and The Greece Jazz Band on April 10. The series will conclude with a performance by The Kodak Concert Band on May 19.
October 17 – Indigo Breeze
Indigo Breeze is a unique collaboration that has been performing locally since 2006 as “Shades of Blue.” Experienced, creative group creates unique arrangements (we call them “creative covers”) of familiar tunes from pop, classic R&B, Latin and Blues musical traditions – plus a new generation of originals. We receive high praise for our diverse style, from gentle ballads to funky rhythms, energetic sambas and swing. Far from the ordinary, we paint engaging sonic colors with the Chapman Stick, strong vocals, and a lead trombone backed by a solid rhythm section.
