$20 – $25Jazz90.1 WGMC is pleased to announce a Valentine’s Day show featuring the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. With hits such as In The Mood, String of Pearls, Pennsylvania 6-5000, and Moonlight Serenade, the Glenn Miller Orchestra has been an icon of the swing and big band sounds of the war era, entertaining audiences around the globe. The Orchestra returns to Rochester, NY under the musical direction of Nick Hilscher and a musician roster that has special ties to the Western NY and The Eastman School of Music with Erik Stabnau (saxophone), Brendan Lanighan (trombone), and Al Piela (trumpet). The Greece Athena High School Jazz Band will also perform as guests arrive beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The show begins at 7:30pm on February 14th, 2018 at the Greece Central Performing Arts Center (GCPAC) at Greece Athena High School (800 Long Pond Rd. Rochester, NY 14612). Tickets are $25 for general admission, and $20 for seniors (60+), students with ID, and armed forces/veterans, and can be purchased in advance at by clicking here, or at the door the evening of the show. Admission is free for children under the age of 10. Free parking is available at GCPAC and guests are encouraged to arrive early as general seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. The show is around two hours in length (including intermission) and will feature historic hits from the Glenn Miller Orchestra library along with vocal and instrumental favorites from the Great American Songbook.
