Jazz90.1 is pleased to present The John Nyerges/Vince Ercolamento Duo.
This on air performance takes place on Wednesday October 20 from 7-8 p.m. live on 90.1 FM in Rochester, New York, streaming via our website, and YouTube page.
John Nyerges is a jazz pianist and composer based in Rochester, NY. He performs with his own Jazz Quartet/Quintet, is the jazz pianist for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and freelances with the region’s top jazz groups, and artists that come to town. His 2008 CD, Jazz, Pictures and Poems, features his own compositions, with his brother’s photography and his daughter’s poetry. As part of this performance, John will play music from his upcoming “Another Time” album. This is John’s fourth project as a leader.
Vince Ercolamento has been playing, performing, and teaching saxophone for over 40 years. Immediately after high school he began composing and arranging with a band. In 1978 Vince attended Nazareth college of Rochester where he received a degree in music performance for saxophone and flute. Once he graduated from college he started touring with a band. Vince has played with many established artist. Some include, Paul Simon, Steve Gadd, Tony Levin, Joe Locke, Christian McBride, Harold Danko, and Lou Graham from Foreigner along with many others. Vince has performed at the Lionell Hampton jazz club in Paris France. He has been a solo artist at the Rochester International Jazz Festival. His recordings are numerous. Vince has 2 of his own recordings. His first “Delightful Eyes” which features pianist Harold Danko was released in 2002. His newest release is entitled “Inner Soul”. Vince also is on 2 recordings by the band Prime Time Funk, where he was a composer and arranger. He has done many commercial recordings which include 2 movie scores and an HBO special. Vince has also enjoyed teaching many students at all levels. His passion and dedication for music keeps him in demand and on the edge of new music. Visit “Inner Soul” to purchase the CD.
