“Montreal-born drummer Jim Doxas has been a member of the Oliver Jones Trio for many years, and is currently touring as part of the quintet “Riverside,” which features trumpeter Dave Douglas, Jim’s brother Chet Doxas on tenor sax, bassist Steve Swallow and pianist-composer Carla Bley. Jim’s style draws on a wide variety of influences and he’s been known to experiment with some unusual techniques as part of his expression. It’s worth noting that he is one of Dave Young’s favorite drummers to work with.”
