Performances take place inside the church, located at 1230 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626. They begin at 7 p.m., and are done by 8:30 p.m. at the latest.
There is plenty of handicapped parking, and close access to the building. No elevators or stairs.
The Stewie Evans Trio plays standards and contemporary jazz, jazzy interpretations of pop tunes, and original compositions. The trio’s members are: Monk Catallo (keyboards, composer), formerly of the Trouvaille Quintet and Transient Mammals. Monk’s influences are very diverse, spanning several genres but are most influenced by bands like Esbjorn Svensson Trio, Soulive, Yes, King Crimson, Lettuce and Weather Report. Jim Blease (drums), was an original member of the Rochester jazz trio/quartet The Westview Project, and most recently played in the Chris Ott Trio. Jim’s influences Lewis Nash, David Garibaldi, and Kenny Washington. Bruce Blaine (bass) has played with the Hochstein Jazz Ensemble and most recently the Chris Ott Trio. Bruce’s influences include Pino Palladino and Christian McBride.
