SMOOTH WEEKEND™ features the newest of the new releases in Smooth Jazz. The show was created in 2007 by host Allen Kepler to give fans a chance to hear the hottest new releases weekly. Kepler was instrumental in developing the Smooth Jazz genre in the late 80’s and 90’s and has worked with over 100 radio stations worldwide.
Over the course of the show’s history, the SMOOTH WEEKEND™ has aired on both smooth jazz radio stations, as well as on other formatted radio stations to give fans a chance to hear their favorite music, even when no local station existed. Today, the show’s focus is on new artists releases and new tunes from core format artists like Dave Koz, Candy Dulfer, Brian Culbertson, Mindi Abair, Boney James and many more.
Hear the show every Sunday morning from 7-9 a.m. on Jazz90.1, and 6-8 p.m. on Jazz90.1 Smooth Grooves Radio.
