A life of following his passions (for the environment, art, and music) lead Nate to be a DJ in 2021.
Now the youngest member of Jazz 90.1, Nate graduated from Fairport High School in 2014, and SUNY- The College at Brockport in 2018 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Ecology. He currently works for the Department of Environmental Services for Monroe County as a NYS certified Water Resource Recovery Operator. As an artist himself (poetry, hip-hop and alternative rock music), jazz has been a consistent source of inspiration for Nate, in his literary and musical pursuits. Jazz’s juxtaposition of technical skill and improvisation follow in-suit with his own creative process.
He is gracious to be further immersed in serving the Rochester community and the jazz world, sharing the jazz and blues he loves. You can hear Nate Jones every Thursday night from 10 p.m. – midnight on Member Supported Jazz90.1.
